La Potinière…
En 1950, Suzanne Biard a ouvert cette 2ème guinguette, un lieu qu’elle voulait fleuri et reposant. Elle l’a tenue plus de 20 ans.
A côté des barques fabriquées par Marcel Champin, un menuisier du pays, elle proposait aussi des pédalos.
Plus tard, les kayaks dans les années 70, puis les bateaux électriques dans les années 90, ont fait partie des bateaux de loisirs mis à disposition des clients.
Aujourd’hui, d’autres commerces proposent des descentes sur l’Orne entre Pont-d’Ouilly et Thury-Harcourt, (près de 50.000 canoës-kayaks descendent la rivière chaque année).

Nel 1950 Suzanne Biard aprì questa seconda guinguette. Era un luogo ameno e fiorito, come ella voleva. La tenne per più di vent’anni.
Oltre alle barche fabbricate da Marcel Champin, un falegname del borgo, ella proponeva anche dei pedalò.
I kayak negli anni ’70 e le barche elettriche negli anni ’90 fecero parte delle attività messe a disposizione dei clienti.
Ad oggi, altri commerci propongono discese sull’Orne tra Pont d’Ouilly e Thury-Harcourt (quasi 50.000 canoe e kayak percorrono il fiume ogni anno).

In 1950, Suzanne Biard opened the second “open air café”. She worked it to be a peaceful place, covered with flowers. She ran it for 20 years.
At the side of the boats made by Marcel Champin, the local carpenter, she suggested having pédalo boats.
Later in the ’70, kayaks were introduced, then, in 90’s electric boats appeared on the river. All of these were put in place for the holiday makers and tourist to enjoy.
Today, one can hire a kayak/canoe and sail down the river Orne between Pont d’Ouilly and Thury-Harcourt. Nearly 50.000 of these crafts do this trip each year.
