Dans cette maison…
Ernest et Célanie David se sont mariés en 1895. Ernest écrivait dans la presse locale. Il faisait venir des photographes et éditait de nombreuses cartes postales sur Clécy. Célanie a tenu le magasin de journaux- librairie jusqu’en 1940.
Leur fils, Ernest, vendait des vélos, mobylettes et motos dans la partie gauche.
Leur gendre, Auguste Denis, exploitait une carrière près de la croix de la Faverie. En 1935, il continua l’activité vélo…de son beau frère décédé. En 1940, il reprit la papeterie-journaux de Célanie avec sa femme Hélène.
Auguste a eu une vie très mouvementée :
– Plusieurs fois blessé à la guerre 14-18;
– Rescapé avec Emile David, son beau frère, du naufrage du bateau » Cap lay » dans la baie d’Along en 1928;
– En 1944 il a fait partie des quelques survivants de la prison de Caen où il était retenu pour fait de résistance.
Auguste et Célanie prirent leur retraite en 1963.

In questa casa…
Ernest e Célanie David si sposarono nel 1895. Ernest scriveva nel giornale locale. Faceva venire dei fotografi e aveva edito numerose carte postali di Clécy. Célanie tenne il negozio di giornali-libreria fino al 1940.
Il loro figlio Ernest vendeva bicicletta, motociclette e motorette nella bottega a destra.
Il genero Auguste Denis sfruttava una cava vicino alla Croce della Faverie. Nel 1935 riprese l’attività di vendita biciclette del cognato deceduto e nel 1940 la libreria di Célanie, con la moglie Hélène.
Auguste ebbe una vita molto movimentata:
Fu ferito più volte nella guerra del ’14.
Naufrago con Emile David, il cognato, dell’affondamento della nave “Cap Lay” nella baia di Along nel 1928.
Nel 1944 fece parte dei sopravvissuti della prigione di Caen dove egli era tenuto per aver fatto resistenza agli occupanti.
Auguste e Célanie andarono in pensione nel 1963.

Ernest and Céine David were married in 1895. Ernest wrote for the local press, he and his wife ran the local newspaper shop.
He sold postcards and old photographs of Clécy. Céline took charge of the newspapers, magazines and books. They ran the shop until 1940.
Their son Ernest sold bicycles, scooters and motorbikes. Auguste, their son-in-law, ran the quarry near La Croix de la Faverie. He took over the bike shop when young Ernest died. In 1940, he and his wife then took over the newspaper shop.
Ernest had a very interesting life.
He was injured several times during the 14/18 war.
He survived with a brother-in-law Emile when their boat sank off the Bay of d’Along.
In 1944 he, with a few others, being members of the Resistance, were imprisoned by the Germans in Caen. Most of the other prisoners were executed.
In 1963 both he and Célanie retired.
