Le début de l’éclairage public…
Le 1er septembre 1907, le Conseil Municipal décide que « le bourg de Clécy sera éclairé par le courant électrique de l’usine de Monsieur Fortin, électricien à Thury-Harcourt, les travaux d’installation étant à sa charge… ».
Vers 1925, Berthe Petit se souvient, enfant, avoir accompagné la bonne de l’hôtel Champin, être montée par un escalier dans la maison pour arriver à une sorte de baraque en bois (voir photo 2), où chaque soir la dame enclenchait un disjoncteur.
Les habitants avaient ainsi la lumière le soir.

L’inizio dell’illuminazione elettrica…
Il 1 settembre 1907, il Consiglio Municipale decide che « il borgo di Clécy sarà illuminato dalla corrente elettrica della fabbrica di Monsieur Fortin, elettrotecnico a Thury-Harcourt. I lavori d’istallazione saranno a suo carico…”.
Verso il 1925, Berthe Petit si ricorda che da bambina aveva accompagnato la domestica dell’Hotel Champin, a salire una scala in una casa, per arrivare in una specie di baracca in legno (vedi foto 2), dove ella attivava ogni sera un disgiuntore.
Gli abitanti avevano così l’illuminazione di sera…

The start of electric lighting for the public.
On the 1st September 1907, the council decided that Clécy should have electric lighting. Mr. Fortin, an electrician from Thury-Harcourt was in charge of installing it.
Around 1925, Berthe Petit remembers as a child being taken to hotel Champin.
She climbed the stairs and arrived at a sort of hut made of wood ( as seen in picture 2) here the lady switched on at the circuit, to set it in motion.
The inhabitants therefore had lighting during the evenings.
