La Société Normande d’Alimentation
Cette épicerie était la seule de Clécy, propriété d’une chaîne de magasins, tenue par des gérants. C’était un vieux magasin à l’ancienne avec :
Une cloche sur la porte.
Un gros moulin à café (le grain était moulu sur demande).
Une balance près de la caisse.
Les légumes secs étaient vendus en vrac. Les rayons, tout en bois, allaient du sol au plafond.
Le gérant, Monsieur Tirard, avant la guerre, s’est beaucoup occupé du comité des fêtes.
Il fabriquait et décorait des chars lors des fêtes du Corso fleuri.

Questo era l’unico alimentari, proprietà di una catena di negozi. Era un negozio all’antica con:
Una campanella sulla porta
Una grossa macina per il caffè (i chicchi erano macinati su richiesta)
Una bilancia vicino alla cassa.
I legumi erano venduti in sacchi. Gli scaffali, completamente in legno, andavano dal pavimento fino al soffitto.
Il gestore, Monsieur Tirard, si occupò nell’anteguerra del comitato delle feste di villaggio.
Creava e decorava dei carri in occasione delle feste del Corso Fleuri (una festa in voga a quei tempi nel villaggio)

Grocers shop.
This was the only grocers shop in Clécy, one of a chain of stores owned by the managers.
This shop had:
A bell at the door
A large coffee grinder, coffee was ground to order.
A pair of scales to weigh the produce at the checkout
All vegetables were sold by choice, not prepacked. All the shelves were from floor to ceiling.
The owner, Mr Tirard, was a member of the festival Committee before the war. He made and decorated all the carts for the festival covering them with flowers.
